| Mission: With commercial and portrait photography the goal is to deliver quality images with emotional impact, either capturing the spirits & emotions behind the subjects, faces and/or the stories & history of a space or area. In fine art photography, working mostly in black and white imagery, I find it very challenging to take everyday, overlooked objects or subject matter and capture them in a way that the viewer can find feelings from personal experiences of their own. As when working in other mediums of visual art such as painting and sculpture, great effort is made to have everything within the photographic compositions become characters in the motionless plays captured through a lens. The use of unusual and dramatic angles gives the photographs views intended to make seemingly insignificant items a bit more powerful and emotional. My style of photography is very pure and traditional but there are always conceptual intentions behind all the fine art images created. |
